“Jesus Gives Rest: Covid-19 Isolation Consolation”

March 19, 2020 Matthew Recker

Are you shocked with the sudden slowed pace and loss of control of your future? Or overwhelmed with heavy burdens today you never thought you’d have to bear?

Maybe you’re in the health care industry and you’re exhausted as the growing health crisis moves at a speed never witnessed in our generation.

Jesus says, whoever you are or wherever you are, you can come to Him for rest. He can give you rest in your battlefield of bedlam, for this is where He moves.

Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heaven laden, and I will give you rest.

The reality is we all have a heavy load to bear in this life, too heavy for us. This is why we must all come to Jesus, as He said.

Maybe the load you bear is a crushing weight of sin and guilt. Come to Jesus, He forgives as we confess our sins to Him.

Maybe you are exploding with anger or fear has wrapped itself around you like a deadly snake and you’re choking with anxiety. Come to Jesus, He gives peace.

Come to Jesus in repentance in faith, confessing all known sin, and believe that He is the Savior of the world. He died for you and rose bodily from the grave that you might live with Him forever.

The load you bear is real, and so is Jesus. He is a loving, living Person, so go to Him for rest. In this time of turmoil & uncertainty, pour out your heart to Him, and you will find a certain Friend who will give you rest.

Maybe you have never done it before, but now is the time. Open up the Scripture and read Psalm 62 or 142; read the Gospel of John or some other Scripture of comfort.

So come… take… learn…from Jesus and find rest in Him. This is His promise. Jesus is alive and we can hear His voice and talk to Him as our Friend, and He will listen and speak and help you through this season.
