God’s Unlimited Grace

May 3, 2016 Matthew Recker

Romans 5:17-20 teaches that as far as sin reaches, to all men, so God’s grace provides salvation to all men. God’s grace in the atonement is unlimited! “Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:18). Jesus loves the world, is the Savior of the world, paid for the sins of the world, and tasted death for the world (John 3:16; John 4:42; 1 John 2:2; Heb.2:9). There is no limit to the extent of who His atonement is for: it is for “whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Rev.22:17).” It is unlimited, for His salvation is offered to all ‘whosoevers’ that have ever sinned! Other beloved passages that emphasize the unlimited extent of Christ’s atoning death are: John 1:29; 2 Cor. 5:19; Romans 10:13; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 2:1.
