Charles H. Spurgeon (1834-1892) was an English Baptist preacher, author, and editor. Pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle from 1861 until his death. Founded a pastors' college (1856), an orphanage (1867), and edited the monthly Sword and Towel magazine.

Susannah Thompson Spurgeon (1832-1903): Author, book supplier, and devoted wife of C.H. Spurgeon. They were married in January, 1856 and they had twin sons, Charles and Thomas. She started a special fund to make theological books available to ministers and missionaries at an affordable price and by 1902 had distributed more than 10,000 volumes. She wrote three books, including A Basket of Summer Fruit.
