HERITAGE DISCIPLESHIP INSTITUTE

2 CLASSES Starting Monday, September 13, 2010 and Finishing December 6, 2010:
(1) New Testament Survey 1 (Matthew – Acts)  (7:00 pm – 7:50 pm) The General Survey classes unfold the overall message and theme of the Bible and see how each book of the Bible fits into the overall Biblical structure. Each class deals with the theme of each particular book, key phrases and verses, authorship, date of writing, and an outline of the book. Upon taking these classes the student will have an outline of every book of God’s eternal word. NT Survey 1 focuses upon the earthly history of Jesus Christ and His first century church. We will learn historical backgrounds of the religious institutions and political groups and the unique features of each Gospel account. Attention will be given to the miracles, the parables and discourses of Jesus Christ culminating in His arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection.
(2) Biblical Counseling  (8:00 pm – 8:50 pm) This class proposes to give God’s answers to life’s problems. We define Biblical counseling and compare this with the inadequate philosophies of modern day psychology. The student will discover root causes to many problems and then a specific procedure for counseling to assist in the areas of anger, depression, loneliness, fear, and bitterness (Textbook: Competent to Counsel by Jay Adams).
TUITION: Due to the expenses involved in making copies and printing, we must charge a small fee for each class. Each course costs $20. This cost covers the printed notes.Textbooks are an additional fee. Please respond and let me know if you are interested as I will need to order an appropriate number of workbooks for each person registered.

DIPLOMA: Each student must be saved, agree with the church doctrinal statements, and complete twenty classroom credits. When these requirements are filled the student may receive a three year diploma. Additional classes may be taken after receiving a diploma. New classes are added every year.
